Punjab govt suspends four PWD engineers for dereliction of duty

Punjab government on Monday suspended four PWD executive engineers for dereliction of duty after a road over bridge collapsed in Bathinda district.
“Two executive engineers Manjeet Singh, Adesh Gupta, a sub divisional engineer Kimat Lal and a Junior Engineer Nishu Bansal have been suspended after a RUB in Bathinda collapsed in Bathinda district that was constructed under their supervision,” said PWD minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon.
The RUB that opened for public in Bathinda in September last year, collapsed due to heavy rain and a panel of inquiry had indicted these officials for dereliction in performance of their duty, which would not be tolerated at any cost, Dillon said, adding that during suspension period the suspended officers will remain attach with the office of Chief Engineer (HQ) at Patiala.
