The dead body of a bank employee who had gone missing ten days ago, was found in forest area of Annandale in Shimla on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Rajender Sharma (49) and he was working at main branch of Himachal Co- operative Bank at Shimla.
“From the preliminary investigation it seems to be a case of suicide as bottle of poison, liquor and cold drinks were found from the spot. The body of the deceased has also been recognized by the deceased’s wife and also has ruled out any possibility of foul play,” Superintendent of Police Abhishek Dullar said.
“To further rule out any possibility of foul play we have sent the body for the postmortem and team of forensic experts is also investigating the case,” he added.
According to sources in police department, the missing report of deceased was filed by the bank administration around ten days ago at Shimla Sadar Police station.
The dead body was first reported by the locals as it had come to the roadside along with rain water from the uphill forest area.
Sources said that Rajender Sharma, who hails to Sirmour was earlier posted at Sangrah. He was transferred to Shimla by the bank administration around two weeks ago due to alleged financial irregularity committed by him.
