Junior engineer nabbed for taking bribe for installing power connection

A junior engineer of Powercom was arrested on Friday for allegedly taking bribe for installing a power connection.
Punjab Vigilance Bureau’s Chief Director-cum-DGP Sursh Arora said that they have received a complaint from Iqbal Singh of Lohgarh village of Ludhiana that the junior engineer Randhir Singh was allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 for installing a power connection at his workshop.
“On the basis of the complaint, Randhir Singh, posted at Sub-Division Pohir district Ludhiana, was arrested while he was accepting bribe from complainant,” Arora said, adding that a vigilance case under sections 7, 13 (1) read with 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 has been registered in the regard and further investigations in the matter are on.
