IPL spot fixing case: BCCI suspends Raj Kundra from cricketing league

New Delhi/June 10
The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) on Monday suspended Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra from all cricketing activities in IPL over betting scandal.
The decision to suspend Kundra came in a meeting of BCCI that was held here today.
Earlier, Kundra, on interrogations by Delhi Police, had confessed to betting in IPL matches.
Kundra, who holds 12 percent shares in Rajasthan Royals team, was questioned by the sleuths of Delhi police after his business partner Umesh Goenka, who is a bookie, had claimed that he used to bet on Rajasthan Royals matches.
After the investigations, Delhi Police had said that Kundra was into betting but not into spot fixing. The police officials had seized his passport and had asked him not to leave the country till the spot-fixing probe is over.
