HC reserves judgment on HPCA’s petition to implead CM, govt officials

Shimla/May 14
Himachal High Court today reserved its judgment on the application filed by the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) to implead Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, Kangra SP Balbir Singh Thakur, DGP Sanjay Kumar and Kangra District Magistrate C Paulrasu as respondents in individual capacity in HPCA lease cancellation case.
A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan passed the orders after hearing the arguments of the HPCA, state government and the Registrar of Societies.
The HPCA has challenged the decision dated October 26, 2013 of the government to cancel the lease granted in favour of HPCA and take over its premises.
The High Court had earlier decided the matter by dismissing the application to implead the Chief Minister and other government functionaries and partially allowing the amendment of Writ petition. On this, the HPCA had moved the Supreme Court, which had remanded the matter back to the High Court for deciding it afresh.
