Haryana govt invites nominations for National Communal Harmony awards

Haryana government on Friday invited nominations for National Communal Harmony Awards 2013.
“Nominations for the awards can be sent directly to the Secretary, National Foundation for Communal Harmony by June 30, 2013 with an intimation letter to Haryana government,” sais a spokesperson of Haryana government, adding that National Foundation for Communal Harmony has instituted two National Communal Harmony Awards, one each for an individual and the other for an organisation to be given annually for outstanding contribution to promote communal harmony and national integration.
The spokesperson said that the awards consist of a citation and cash prize of Rs 5 lakh in the individual category and a citation and cash prize of Rs 10 lakh in the category of organisation.
“A jury headed by the Vice President of India will make selection for conferment of Awards and the details are also available at Foundation’s website www.nfch.nic.in,” he said.
He added that the main objective of the foundation was to provide assistance for effective rehabilitation of the children who had been victim of communal, caste, ethnic or terrorist violence and promote communal harmony, fraternity and national integration.
