BSNL starts helpline to track pilgrims missing in Uttrakhand flash floods

BSNL on Sunday started helpline to track pilgrims that went missing in flash floods and landslides in Uttrakhand.
BSNL will help the relatives of the victims of Uttrakhand’s natural calamity to track the last mobile phone location of the missing pilgrims.
The relatives of the missing pilgrims can call on BSNL helpline numbers – 1503, 09412024365 to know about the last location of their near and dear one.
Yesterday, BSNL had said that they will restore functioning of mobile towers at crucial locations in Uttarakhand within next three days.
Meanwhile, Airtel has also started free of cost Emergency Alert Service for the customers registered in the Visitor Location Register (VLR) in affected districts.
As per reports, the death toll in natural tragedy is likely be more than 5,000 people, meanwhile, around 19,000 people are still stranded in several places in areas around Kedarnath, Badrinath and Gaurikund.
Meanwhile, rescue operations in Uttrakhand were stepped today amid intermittent rains with India’s Meteorological Department warning of heavy rains from tomorrow and around 3,000 pilgrims were evacuated to safer locations.
