Acid attack victim from Rohtak to get Rs 20 lakh from govt for plastic surgery

Acid attack victim from Haryana’s Rohtak district will be given Rs 20 lakh by the state government for her plastic surgery.
Haryana’s Women and Child Development minister, Geeta Bhukkal today said that the state government has decided to release an immediate relief of Rs 20 lakh to Ritu Saini of Rohtak for her plastic surgery and they will provided further assistance if required for the treatment.
“Haryana government has notified a scheme ‘Relief and Rehabilitation of Women Acid Victims’ to provide adhoc relief, medical reimbursement and rehabilitation services to women acid victims and under the scheme, Rs 25,000 is being provided as adhoc relief to the victim by concerned Deputy Commissioner after lodging the FIR,” Bhukkal said, adding that in case of death of victim, the Board would pay Rs 5 lakh in lump sum to the legal heir and entire expenditure of treatment, including plastic surgery, is reimbursed.
The acid attack victim Ritu has sought financial assistance of Rs 20 lakh from the state government for plastic surgery and the claim was made on the basis of report given by Delhi besed Indraprastha Apollo Hospital and the hospital has made the recommendations for the treatment.
Meanwhile, the sum has been released in favour of Rohtak’s Deputy Commissioner and he will give the financial to the victim or her family, she added.
