Himachal to host Paragliding International Championship in October

Himachal is going to host Paragliding International Championship and Himalayan National Paragliding Championship-2013 at Bir-Billing in Kangra district of the state from October 21-26 and the last date for submitting applications for participation in the event is October 20.
The championship is being organized by Himachal Pradesh Youth Services and Sports department in collaboration with Himachal Pradesh Tourism department, Aero Club of India (ACI) and Federation Aeronauctique Internationals (FAI).
Trial day for participants will be held on October 21 while competitions for the championship will held from October 22-26. The eligibility criteria for foreigner participant is international pilot proficiency instrument of level three or equivalent while any Indian pilot having/exhibiting capabilities of doing 35 Kms or Cross country Twice and knowing all collision avoidance air Traffic Rules and as per guidelines suggested by Aero Club of India for local
Paragliders can take part in the event.
The entry fee for foreigners is 100 dollars while Indian participants will have to pay Rs 1,000 entry for participating in the International Championship (FAI C-II) and Himalayan National Paragliding Championship Bir and Billing India-2013.
For army paragliding pilots/novice paragliding pilots, the registration fee will be Rs 500 and the pilots will have to submit the registration forms with all details before October 20.
The fee may be remitted through bank draft or through online mode in State Bank of Patiala Shimla-02 (HP).
Himachal Pradesh has been conducting Paragliding PreWorld Cup of International level since 2002 at Bir-Billing every year with the support of Aero Club of India.
