“For the treatment of injecting drug users, six Opiod Substitution Treatment Centres were already functioning at Panchkula, Ambala, Sonipat, Bahadurgarh, Faridabad and Panipat and four new such centres will be made functional in the current financial year at Hisar, Sirsa, Jind and Rewari,” Kasni said.
Kasni also stressed on the need to create awareness among the masses on HIV and AIDS. “The prevalence in HIV is decreasing and Haryana is a low prevalence state. We should make all out efforts for combating this deadly disease,” she said.
She added that there is the need for more involvement of various departments including education, labour, industry, rural development and women and child development departments to eradicate the disease.
