Taj Mahal ranks as third choice of travellers from across globe

India’s Mughal era monument Taj Mahal have been ranked third among the top three landmarks in the world that tourists from across the world would like to visit.
As per a survey conducted by leading travel website TripAdvisor, Taj Mahal have been ranked third by travellers from across the globe among the top 25 landmarks in the world.
Taj Mahal, known for its architecture and aesthetic beauty, is ranked as third choice of global tourists in Travellers’ Choice Attractions Award after Machu Picchuin in Peru (1st rank) and Angkor Wat in Cambodia (2nd rank).
TripAdvisor in a statement said that the winners of Travelers’ Choice Attractions awards were determined based on the quality and quantity of traveler reviews of attractions.
Taj Mahal is also listed among the new seven wonders of the world and it was Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his late wife Mumtaz Mahal.
Regarded as an enduring symbol of love, Taj Mahal was included in Unesco’s World Heritage Site in 1983 and it attracts around 40 tourists every year that includes than 2 lakh foreign tourists.
