Punjab to provide free basic computer training to graduate SC youth

Punjab government on Wednesday announced to provide one year free basic computer training along with typing in Punjabi and English languages to graduate SC (scheduled castes) youth of the state.
Punjab’s Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare minister Gulzar Singh Ranike said that graduate SC youth below the age of 30 years will be imparted training at Mohali, Amritsar, Ferozepur and Patiala for 2013-14 session and interested candidates can send their applications for these courses to concerned District Welfare Officer.
“Youth belonging to BPL scheduled castes families will be given priority in these training programs and candidates whose annual income is above one lakh will also be considered for the training if there are any vacant seats,” Ranike said, adding that they will not be entitled for scholarship during the training.
Ranike said that written test and interview for this computer course will be held on July 30 and selected candidates will be given Rs 750 scholarship during the training.
