A low intensity earthquake jolted Himachal’s Kangra district and adjoining areas on Saturday night, however, no loss to life and property was reported from the area.
As per reports, residents of Kangra felt tremors at around 11.20 pm last night that lasted for four to five seconds and its epicenter was reported be in Kangra.
As per reports, he tremors were of 4.5 intensity on the Richter scale but there was no loss of life and property. Meanwhile, residents of the area came out of their houses after tremors and remain outside for quite sometime fearing recurrence of earthquake.
Kangra valley falls in the most sensitive zone of the earthquake Zone-5 and these earthquakes occur due to shift in tectonic plates adjustments with the change in the weather
