Life of Pi won four Oscars including Best Director for Ang Lee

Daniel Day-Lewis won Oscar award for Best Actor in a leading role for movie, Lincoln while Ben Affleck’s movie Argo won Best Film Oscar award along with two other awards, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Editing at 85th Academy Awards held in Los Angles today.
Meanwhile, Ang Lee’ Life of Pi which was nominated in 11 categories, won four Oscars including Best director, original, cinematography and visual effects.
Lincoln is an American historical drama film directed and produced by Steven Spielberg, starring Daniel Day-Lewis as United States President Abraham Lincoln and Sally Field as Mary Todd Lincoln. The film is based in part on Doris Kearns Goodwin’s biography of Lincoln, ‘Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln’ and covers the final four months of Lincoln’s life, focusing on the President’s efforts in January 1865 to have the 13th Amendment to the United States Constitution passed by the United States House of Representatives.
Argo which won three Oscars is directed by Ben Affleck and it portrays the story of the Canadian caper, the extraction of six hostages by CIA agent Tony Mendez from the 1979 US embassy siege in Iran.
Jennifer Lawrence won best actress award in a leading role for movie, Silver Lining Playbook movie. In the movie, Jennifer Lawrence has played the role of Tiffany, a mysterious girl with problems of her own. Tiffany offers to help Pat reconnect with his wife, but only if he’ll do something very important for her in return.
Ang Lee won Oscar award in best director category for his movie, Life of Pi and in all, the movie have won four Oscars including Best Original Score, Best Cinematography and Visual Effects. This is Lee’s second Oscar award for best director and he had won the same award for Brokeback Mountain seven years ago. Lee’s movie portrays the adventures of a young man sharing life on a boat with a tiger after a ship wreck.
Anne Hathway won Best supporting actress award for her role in Les Miserables. Les miserables was nominated in 8 categories, including best film and it has picked up three Oscars, including for makeup and hairstyle and for sound mixing.
Quentin Tarantino won the Oscar for Original Screenplay for his film Django Unchained. Meanwhile, Amour won the Oscar in foreign language film category and it describes the harrowing drama about an elderly married couple struggling to cope when the wife suffers a stroke.
