Airline follows suit after other airlines announced low fares
New Delhi/February 21
Air India has announced discounts of up to 40 percent on one way regular fare on its domestic flights.
The move came a day after Jet Airways yesterday announced Rs 2250 airfare on 20 lakh seats after which IndiGo, SpiceJet and GoAir also started offering low fares. Sources said that by announcing the lowest fares, the airlines had not breached DGCA’s norms for lowest rates.
As per travel sites, Air India is offering the lowest fares to passengers on all most all the major sectors. Sources added that these discounts in January-March lean season are expected to attract many passengers and the flights will have passengers which otherwise fly empty.
