Himachal police would soon set up CCTV cameras on National Highways to control the crime and keep strict vigil on crime activities. This was disclosed by the Director General of Police I.D.Bhandari. He was addressing the Police officers and officials at the district police headquarters in Bilaspur on Saturday.
He appreciated Police Organisation in Bilaspur District for taking effective steps to control the accidents on National Highway and added that they should also put more concerted efforts to achieve better results.
He said that 21 black spots had been identified on National Highway-21 and sign boards had been setup along the roads sides. He said that awareness campaign would be launched to make the drivers aware about safety measures.
He directed the officers to take strict action against the persons involved in drug trafficking. He said that information technique had been introduced by the police department to control the crimes and training was being imparted to the police personnel.
Director General of Police said that a Police post would also be opened in Sai Kharsi in district Bilaspur.
Additional Director General of Police K.C.Sadyal, Deputy Commissioner Ritesh Chauhan , Superintendent of Police Santosh Patyal and others were also present on the occasion.
