10 killed, 40 injured in bus accident near Theog

Ten persons were killed while forty others suffered injuries after a HRTC bus fell into 150 feet deep gorge near Balghar curve in Theog area of Shimla district today.
As per reports, the HRTC bus was on its way to Neri from Theog and it fell into gorge near Balghar curve in which 10 persons including eight women and two children have been killed in the accident. “The injured persons have been rushed to IGMC where they are undergoing medical treatment and the bodies of the victims have been handed over to their relatives after conducting on spot autopsy,” police said.
Police said that the reason behind the accident was yet to be ascertained and further investigations in the matter are on.
Meanwhile, Transport minister G S Bali had ordered judicial inquiry into the accident and had also announced Rs 2.50 lakh to the next of kin who have been killed in the accident.
Bali along with Himachal Governor Urmila Singh, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and Irrigation and Public Health minister Vidya Stokes expressed their condolences with the kin of deceased.
