UIDAI wins 21st Century Achievement award at Computerworld Honors Laureate


New Delhi/June 21
International Data group’s Computerworld Honors Laureate had conferred UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) with 21st Century Achievement Award 2013 under Economic Development category at a ceremony that was held in the Andrew W Mellon Auditorioum in Washington last week.
“International Data Group (IDG) Computerworld Honours Program, Computerworld Honors Laureate selected UIDAI for 21st Century Achievement Award 2013 for it’s role for changing people’s lives by leveraging technology, streamline delivery of welfare services and provide opportunity to people to participate more fully in society,” said an Indian government spokesperson.
International IT forum, Computerworld Honors Program recognizes and honours visionary application of Information Technology promoting positive social, economic and social change.
UIDAI was chosen for the award by the International IT forum’s jury among 24 other nominees from different parts of the World and the award was received by DDG Keshni Anand Arora on behalf of UIDAI.
While conferring the award, Computerworld’s Vice President and Publisher John Amato said, “Computerworld is honoured to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of 2013 class of Laureates and to share their work.”
