Punjab govt urges general public to adopt wildlife animals

Punjab government on Tuesday urged the general public to to adopt wild life animals.
Punjab’s Forest and Wild Life Preservation minister Surjit Kumar Jayani appealed to general public to adopt wild life animals and instructed officials to sensitize the masses about the adoption scheme trough print and electronic media.
Jayani after a meeting with the governing council of Punjab zoo development society said that so far, 52 animals have been adopted by the public in the state and anyone can adopt animal by depositing the one year food cost of the particular animal.
Jayani also instructed the officers present in the meeting to ensure supply of safe water for the use of the animals and make arrangements for in time delivery of food to the animals.
“Approval has also been accorded for the animal structures and transportation of animals from one zoo to another,” Jayani added.
