Punjab Government on Monday decided to conduct online auction of mineral and stone mines of less than 5 hectare area from July 1.
“E-auction of 115 mines in 19 districts will start from July 1 to July 3 and the decision has been taken to bring transparency in auction of sand and stone mines,” said a Punjab government spokesperson, adding that this process would facilitate the bidders as now they could take part in the bids through e-bidding from their homes.
“Punjab government will conduct online auction of 11 mines in Faridkot district, 3 mines in Moga district, 2 mines in Barnala dstrict, 4 mines in Sangrur district, 18 mines in Ferozpur district, 2 mines in Mansa on July 1. While 3 mines in SBS Nagar district, 7 mines in Jalandhar district, 3 mines in Bathinda district, 8 mines in Roopnagar district, 2 mines in Hoshiarpur district, 6 mines in Fazilka district, 2 mines in Ajitgarh district and 7 mines in Amritsar district will auctioned on July 2,” said the spokesperson, adding that the auction in Tarn Taran for 2 mines, Gurdaspur for 14, Ludhiana for 12 mines, Pathankot for 7 mines and Kapurthala for 2 mines will be held on July 3.
