Fake visa racket busted in Amritsar

Punjab police on Tuesday busted a fake visa racket in Amritsar district with the arrested two travel agents and have recovered 70 fake visas along with fake visa stamps.
Police officials on Tuesday conducted a raid at a travel agent’s office in Baba Bakala area of Amritsar and arrested two persons Balbir Singh and Ranjit Singh for giving fake Singapore visas.
“We have received a complaint from Jaspal Singh and 25 other youths who were given fake Singapore visa by the duo along with one Rajesh Kumar after which conducted a raid their office,” said the police, adding that they have recovered over 70 passports, fake visas stamps, identity cards of the anti-crime bureau of the police from their possession.
Police officials added that the travel agents were offering visa to Singapore for Rs 25,000-30,000 but they used to give fake visas to unsuspecting youths and the number of the victims could be more.
Meanwhile, the accused Rajesh is still absconding and a hunt is on to nab him. A case has been registered in this regard and police officials are further probing the matter to unearth this fake visa racket.
