Central teams to visit Himachal to assess loss in flash flood affected areas

Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Sunday said that Indian government will send high-level team to assess the flood damages in Himachal Pradesh.
Singh after meeting Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde at New Delhi today, said that top level officials from various Ministries, Departments besides banking representatives will assess the flood damages on the spot and will assist the state government in its rehabilitation efforts.
“Central Government will also provide funding to the state government under various centrally sponsored schemes and experts in disaster management and experts of other agencies will assist in reconstruction and rehabilitation programs,” Singh said.
Singh apprised the Union Home minister of the massive destructions and damages in the state due to flash floods and detailed about the steps taken by state government for undertaking massive rescue and relief operations in time bound manner.
Meanwhile, Shinde appreciated the works undertaken by the Himachal government and said that Central Government will fully assist the state government in undertaking relief and rehabilitation measures in the State on massive scale.
