Agnihotri inaugurate

The State Government is promoting social and cultural activities in a big way along-with developmental activities so as to ensure overall development of the State. This was stated by Industries Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri after inaugurating the Himachali cultural evening of the international trade fair being organized at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
Shri Agnihotri said the State Government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh was ensuring balanced and speedy development in the State. Himachal Pradesh has achieved various developmental milestones in the last four years in most of the sectors. Recently the State was awarded as the best State in the country in field of education and inclusive development in the Big States category which itself speaks about the development carried out by the present Congress Government.
The Minister said the State had taken various initiatives and incentives were being offered to attract entrepreneurs. The Government had also simplified the procedures and approval of projects was being given in a fixed timeframe which had shown positive results.
Stressing the need to preserve rich cultural heritage of the State, Shri Agnihotri said that such events help in promoting the culture at international level as a large number of foreign tourists visit this trade fair. He said the State Government had taken up a number of steps to promote the culture and various NGOs were also supplementing the efforts of the Government. He added that the fairs and festivals organized in the State around the year also depict and promote our rich culture and traditions.
The Minister also visited the stalls of Himachal Pradesh and evinced keen interest in exhibitions. He specially appreciated the exhibition of e-Vidhan Sabha in the fair and said that this unique initiative of the State Government had helped in saving Rs. 15 crore annually. He said so far representatives of 22 States have visited the State Assembly and have shown their keenness to adopt this model.
Manager of Himachal Pavilion Shri Jogesh Gupta informed that this year the Pavilion had been showcased under ‘Digital India’ theme wherein the exhibition of e-Vidhan Sabha had become centre of attraction.
Resident Commissioner, New Delhi Shri A.P. Singh, Director Industries Shri Rajesh Sharma, Special Secretary Shri D.C. Rana, Additional Director, Shri Anupam Kashyap, former Director Language and Culture Shri Prem Sharma, Deputy Director, Shri Balkrishan representatives of various NGOs and other senior officers of the State Government were present on the occasion.
