Punjab: SAD leader Jaspal Kaur Dharni, son found murdered

SAD leader Jaspal Kaur Dharni and her 24-year-old son Ajit Singh found dead under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday evening. While the body Dharni was found in a canal in Khanauri area of Sangrur district, her son Ajit Singh Ginny’s decomposed body found at their Patiala residence.

As per reports, Ajit Singh, the son of Patiala (Rural) District President of Istri Akali Dal (SAD’s women wing) Jaspal Kaur Dharni was found dead under mysterious circumstancesat his house in Old Bishan Nagar after his neighbours complained of foul smell emanating for the house.

“Ginny’s decomposed body was sent to autopsy and exact cause behind his death could be ascertained on the basis of his postmortem report,” police officials said, adding that Jaspal Kaur Dharni and her son were reported to missing since the last 10-14 days.

Police officials said that both Jaspal Kaur Dharni and her son Ginny’s mobile phones were switched off from the last few days. “Initial investigations suggests that Ginny might have died 7-8 days ago as his body was highly decomposed condition,” police sources said.

Meanwhile, Patiala police officials came to know about the dead body of Jaspal Kaur Dharni being recovered from a canal near Khanauri Head Works in Sangrur district last evening after which a police team have sent to the spot for further investigations.

Police officials said that they were probing the suspicious deaths of SAD leader Jaspal Kaur Dharni and her son from all possible angles and they would be able to crack the soon.

The SAD leader Jaspal Kaur Dharni was considered to be a very influential leader in party with her being considered to be close to many senior leaders including a Cabinet minister in the Punjab goverment.
