Three passengers were kiled while forty five others suffered in a bus accident on Balachaur-Garhshankar road in Punjab on Saturday evening.
As per reports, the accident took place near Panam village in Garhshankar area on Saturday when the Mercedes Benz bus collided with a tree.
“Initial investigations suggests that the driver of the bus lost control over the speeding vehicle after which it collided with a tree in Panam village in Garhshankar,” police officials said, adding that it took two hours to rescue officials to extricate bodies of the injured and deceased from mangled remains of the bus.
Police officials said that three persons including the driver of the bus were killed on the spot while forty five others suffered injuries.
“The injured were rushed to to hospital from where eight injured were referred to PGI Chandigarh as their condition remained critical. While nine others have been referred to private hospitals in the area for further medical treatment,” police officials said.
Police officials said that the deceased have identified as Sajjan Singh, Varun Kumar while a woman who had also died in the bus accident at Garhshankar could not be identified as yet.
Police added that they have registered a case and further investigations are on to behind the exact cause of bus accident at Garhshankar.
