Four more BSF jawans killed in naxalite attack in Chhatisgarh

In a fourth naxalite attack within three days, four more BSF jawans were on Monday killed while eight others suffered injuries in Kirundul area of Dantewara district of Chhattisgarh.

As per reports, around 50-60 naxalites attacked a anti-landmine vehicle that was carrying twelve BSF jawans
and blew up the vehicle with explosives.

“One BSF jawan was killed on the spot while three others succumbed to the injuries in hospital,” police sources said, adding that eight injured have been admitted NMDC hospital and they condition is said to be serious.

Police officials said that the deceased have been identified as Allauddin Khan, Lalluram Pradhan, Jaiprakash Paswan and driver Shiva Kashyap.

“Twelve BSF jawans were returning to Cholnar Camp after routine search operation when they were attacked by naxalites who blew up the anti-landmine vehicle with approximately 50 kg RDX,” police sources said.

Police officials said that naxalites also opened fire on BSF jawans after blewing up and tried to snatch their weapons. But escaped from the spot as backup arrived from Cholnar Camp, located few hundred metres away from the spot.

“The naxalites managed to escape from after gun battle with BSF personnel who rushed to the spot, hearing sound of the explosion and gun fire,” police said, adding that a combing operation has been started in the area to nab the naxalites.

Sources added that police have arrested three suspected naxalites in the case and investigations in naxalite attack case was on.
