Central govt employees Dearness Allowance (DA) hiked by 6%

The Central Government has approved a 6 percent hike in the hiked Dearness Allowance (DA) to its employees and pensioners. This decision was taken by Modi government in a cabinet meeting held here on Mumbai.

The DA of central government employees has now reached to 113 per cent of their basic pay. The central government employee and pensioners would get this DA with effect from January. This decision of central government would benefit around 48 lakh government employees as well as 55 lakh pensioners. This would put a financial burden of Rs 7,889.34 crore in the current financial year. This increase has been made according to the formula based on the recommendations of the 6th Central Pay Commission.
