Sexual abuse of disciples case: CBI court rejects Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's petition

In a major major setback to Dera Sacha Sauda chief, a special CBI court has rejected the petition of Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s petition, seeking stay of proceeding in sexual abuse of female disciples case.

As per reports, a special CBI court has rejected the petition of Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh for staying proceedings in case and ordered to start final arguments in the case.

The special CBI court had directed Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh to appear before court again on Monday i.e. March 23, 2015 when the final arguments in sexual abuse case would resume.

It is pertinent to mention here that Dera Sacha Sauda chief Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh had sought stay on proceedings till an appeal in pending in High Court and the court takes a decision on his appeal.

On the other hand, the CBI, on its part, had completed proceeding in sexual abuse case of female disciples on Saturday after which it was the turn of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh to present his side.

But the proceedings in the case were adjourned till March 23, 2015 as there was little time left on Saturday for Dera Sacha Sauda chief to present his side.

Meanwhile, the court would hear arguments in murder cases of journalist Chhatrapati and Ranjit on April 4, 2015 and Dera Sacha Sauda chief had been asked to appear in the court for hearing.

Earlier, the Dera Sacha Sauda chief had appeared through video conferencing from Sirsa Court Complex on Saturday and the proceedings in the murder were held through the facility in special CBI court in Panchkula.
