Congress MP Renuka Chaudhary dares Air India to prove allegation of 'retail therapy'

Congress MP Renuka Chaudhary on Tuesday denied reports of causing 45-minute delay in Air India flight and dared airline officials to prove ‘retail therapy’ remark or face action.

As per reports, Air India sources on Monday told mediapersons that Congress MP Renuka Chaudhary’s shopping spree at Delhi airport caused a delay of 45-minute delay as she didn’t turned up at scheduled time despite repeated announcements.

Renuka Chaudhary demanded details from Air India officials as to where she had gone for shopping while announcement were being made for boarding flight.

“I would meet Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathy Raju and would urge him to ask Air India officials to prove allegations,” Renuka Chaudhary said, adding that she would take action against the airline if the allegations were not proved.

Congress MP explained her stand by saying that she could hear the announcements as she was arranging buggy to take her to flight as she is suffering from knee problem.

While Air India sources had told media that Renuka Chaudhary turned up late to board Air India’s Chicago-Delhi-Hyderabad flight AI-126 on Friday despite repeated announcements and by the time she came, the pilot had missed his turn in the queue for taking off on Delhi Airport runaway.

The Air India official had termed Renuka Chaudhary’s ‘retail therapy’ as the reason for delay and claimed that her shopping spree delayed the flight to Hyderabad from Delhi with a Union Minister and Supreme Court judge onboard.
