WhatsApp launches PC version but not for iPhone users

In a good for over 60 crores users, WhatsApp has finally launched PC version which can be used as Chrome extension for now but iPhone users would have wait for some more time to avail this feature.

WhatsApp founder Jan Koum on Wednesday posted on his Facebook page that users would be available to access online chatting app as the company has launched PC version that works as Chrome Extension.

Though there is no difference in Mobile based WhatsApp application and PC version, Koum said, adding that PC version would work as an extension of mobile app.

For installing WhatsApp PC version on your desktop, users would have to visit https://web.whatsapp.com webpage and one has to scan their QR codes of the smartphone they are using.

WhatsApp PC version is only available for Android, Blackberry, Blackberry 10 and Windows based smartphones.

The iPhone users seems to wait for some more time before WhatsApp releases update for them.

WhatsApp has launched PC version in view of stiff competition from other oline chatting apps as Viber, Line and the company is reportedly planning to launch voice calling feature for its users in 2015.

Just few days, WhatsApp has also banned its users from using third party app WhatsApp Plus.
