Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dhani Ram Shandil on Saturday launched scholarship scheme for the students of belonging to economically weaker sections in the state.
Shandil also launched toll free helpline number 1800-30000-388 of Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh for the needy students and the campaign for the students of belonging to EWS category.
Shandil said that the Aryans Group was one of the leading groups in the Chandigarh region who took these kinds of initiatives for students.
He expressed hope the deserving students of the students would be benefited with this initiative.
Aryans Group of Colleges Chairman Anshu Kataria said that the main objective of the post metric scholarship scheme was to award scholarships to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of minority communities.
“The scholarship is awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50 percent marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs 2.5 Lakh for SC, Rs 4.5 Lakh for ST and Rs 1 Lakh for OBC,” he said.
Aryans Group Director General, Parveen Kataria said that the students coming under minority categories like Sikhs, Muslims, Buddhists, Jainism and Parsi could also avail the benefit of Ministry of Minority Affairs (MOMA) scholarship.
