Palestine decides to join International Criminal Court defying US, Israel warnings

North Gazette News/New Delhi
Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday announced to join International Criminal Court as he signed papers in this regard despite US and Israel warnings against such move.

Palestinian move have also triggered fears of strict sanctions by US and Israel against the country which has already lost resolution on ending Israeli occupation of its areas by 2017 in UN Security Council.

Experts say that the provocative move would enable the Palestinian authorities to seek prosecution of Israeli army officers on charges of war crimes.

Abbas said that Palestine was disappointed with UN Security Council’s towards the resolution to end Israeli occupation of its territories and it was the reason that the country has decided to move International Criminal Court.
