Indian govt announces Jeevan Raksha Padak Awards 2014

Indian government on Sunday announced Jeevan Raksha Padak Awards 2014 which would be conferred on 56 persons of which 27 would be conferred posthumously.

Indian government official said that the President of India Pranab Mukherjee today approved Jeevan Raksha Padak Awards 2014 to 56 persons for meritorious acts in saving the lives of fellow human beings.

“Out of 56 persons who have conferred with Jeevan Raksha Padak Awards 2014 4 persons have been awarded with Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, 17 with Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak and 35 with Jeevan Raksha Padak to 35 persons,” said the official, adding that 27 persons would conferred with award posthumously.

The official said that Jeevan Raksha Padak series of awards are given to a person for meritorious act of humane nature in saving the life of a person and awards is given in three categories, namely, Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak, and Jeevan Raksha Padak.
