Few opposition leaders unnecessarily opposing Central University at Dharamshala: CM

Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said that few opposition leaders were unnecessarily opposing setting up of Central University at Dharamshala. He said that educational institutes of repute had been opened in all districts including Hamirpur, so nobody should have any objection if Central University comes up at Dharamshala.

He said that with a view to facilitate the people in getting maximum benefit of various government welfare schemes and programmes and also getting their revenue and other works done easily, Himachal government was endeavouring to provide the facility of Mini Secretariats up to Sub-Divisional level. So far, Mini Secretariat’s have been made available at maximum districts and Sub-Divisions and more would be established in the near future.
Singh stated this while addressing a public meeting at Nadaun in Hamirpur district today after laying foundation stone of the Mini Secretariat building to be constructed at a cost of Rs.6.12 crore. This building will house various offices of Sub-Divisional level under one roof.
Chief Minister also announced Sub Tehsil for Kangu in Nadaun assembly segment and construction of primary health centre at Rail and Fhail. He said that 50 hand pumps would be set up in the constituency to meet out the shortage of drinking water. He directed the PWD authorities to prepare detailed project report (DPR) for construction of road between Gwal Pathtar to Hathol Pul. Virbhadra Singh also inaugurated Barsal bridge over Man khad constructed at a cost of Rs.5.60 crores and PWD Rest House building at Nadaun constructed at a cost of Rs. 92 lakh.
He also laid foundation stone of wayside amenities project at Nadaun which would have facilities like restaurant, parking, cottages and toilets etc. This project would be completed by spending a sum of Rs. 80 lakhs
The Chief Minister announced to upgrade Rangas, Basaran, Hathol and Dangari high schools to government senior secondary schools and Tarti, Jasai, Babrahan, Manjheli and Bhaloon middle schools to high schools. He announced that science block would be constructed for government senior secondary school Churu.
.He announced to open three health sub centres in the constituency.
Reacting to the reports on ‘Love Jihad’ in certain sections of the press,Virbhadra Singh said that till now, not even a single case had come to his notice but, if there was any such case, it should be brought forward so that inquiry could be conducted.
State Congress President Sukhvinder Singh Thakur on the occasion said that Chief Minister had toured Chamba, Kangra and Hamirpur districts during last two weeks to redress the grievances of the people besides monitoring the progress of ongoing developmental projects. He said that it was due to Virbhadra Singh that Hamirpur district was ahead in every sector and various important government offices had been opened by him.
He said that the previous BJP Government left the State economy in shambles but the present Government not only managed to bring it on track but also ensured rapid development of the State.
District Congress President Naresh Thakur and Nadaun Block Congress President Captain Prithvi Chand also spoke on the occasion.
MLA Sanjay Rattan, Vice Chairman KCCB Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Ex-MLA . Anita Verma, Nadaun Youth Congress President Shri Manider Katoch, Chaimran, Nadaun Nagar Parishad Neena Kumari and other prominent persons were also present on the occasion.
