Election Commission of India on Monday announced to conduct Delhi assembly elections 2015 on February 7, 2015. While the results of Delhi assembly elections 2015 would be declared on February 10, 2015.
After the announcement of Delhi assembly elections 2015, the Model Code of Conduct has been imposed in the national capital with immediate effect.
ECI Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampat said that date of notification is January 14, last day for filing nominations is January 21 and last date for withdrawal of nominations is January 24, 2015.
Delhi assembly election 2015 is do or die battle for major political parties of India but political experts are terming the contest mainly between Aam Admi Party (AAP) and Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP).
While BJP is relying on the Modi Wave, the Aam Admi Party has faith in the anti incumbency wave prevailing against sitting BJP government in the centre. Delhi assembly elections 2015 is also fight of survival fight for newly launched political party, AAP by anti corruption crusader Arvind Kejriwal.
Congress party on Monday has appointed former Union Minister Ajay Maken the head of election campaign committee and he is likely to fight assembly for a constituency in national capital.
AAP has already declared the list of 70 candidates for Delhi assembly elections 2015.
