Delhi gangrape rerun: Woman brutally gangraped, murdered in Vasant Kunj

In a chilling reminder of Delhi gangrape, a 30-year-old woman was reported to be brutally gangraped and murdered in Vasant Kunj area of south Delhi.

As per reports, the victim’s body was found from forest area near Sultanpur Metro Station on Saturday morning with multiple injury marks on her body and private parts.

Delhi police sources said the incident bears striking similarity to the December 16 Nirbhaya case as pieces of wood and iron rod have been found in her private parts.

“The victim seems to have been brutally gangraped after which the accused murdered the victim to hide their crime,” police sources said, adding that the woman’s hands and feet were found tied with rope.

The victim had reportedly gone missing since Friday evening and a missing report was filed with police in this regard.

Police have registered a case against unidentified persons in the case and further investigations in the matter are on.

The victim was a resident of Fatehpur Bari area of Delhi and she used to work in a private company to run household as her husband is bedridden due to a road accident. The family originally hails from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh.

The brutal gangrape came to light hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Ramleela Maidan in New Delhi and Union Home Ministry had reportedly asked the police to solve this sensational gangrape as soon as possible.
