Syria on Sunday claimed to have downed an Israeli drone in Quneitra province near Israel occupied Golan Heights.
As per reports, the Israeli drone was downed by Syrian army while it was flying over Hadar village near Golan Heights. However, it was not confirmed as to whether Israeli drone had been shot down by Syrian army or it had crashed.
Quneitra has been witnessing heavy fighting between rebels that include al-Qaeda associated fighters and security forces, loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
It is pertinent to mention here that Syria had been witnessing civil war that started four years ago against the Bashar al-Assad regime.
Israel had reportedly carried air strikes in Syria, mainly targeting weapons that Israel claimed to be meant foe Hezbollah fighters in neighbouring Lebanon.
Last week, Syria had claimed that Israeli Air Force carried air strikes on areas near Damascus International Airport and Dimas town near Lebanon border.
