Saudi Arabia beheads man for raping child

Saudi Arabia on Monday beheaded a man, accused of kidnapping and raping a child in Buraydah city in Riyadh.

As per reports, Suleiman bin Abdullah was beheaded in Buraydah city in Riyadh after he was found guilty of kidnapping and raping a child.

Abdullah had reportedly kidnapped a male child and raped him after tying him up.

With the execution of Abdullah, human rights activists claimed that Saudi Arabia had become top country in the world in executing capital punishment.

Media reports claim that Saudi Arabia had executed 84 Saudis and foreigners in the country in 2014.

It is pertinent to mention here that Saudi Arabia follows the strict version of Islamic Sharia Law under which rape, murder, drug trafficking, apostasy and armed robbery are punishable by death sentence.

As per the report of Amnesty International, Saudi Arabia had executed the third-highest number of prisoners in 2013 after Iran and Iraq.
