Saudi Arabia on Tuesday gave nod for hiring of Indian domestic workers and maids.
As per reports, Saudi Arabia government has approved an agreement with India on recruiting Indian domestic workers in the meeting of council of minister, chaired by crown Prince Salman.
“The council of ministers in a meeting, chaired by Crown Prince Salman, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defence on Monday approved the Saudi Arabia’s agreement with Delhi,” Arab News reported on Tuesday.
Saudi Arabia has approved the agreement to protect the rights of domestic workers as well as their employers and regulate the contractual relationship between the two parties.
Media reports says that the agreement also aims at organising the recruitment process and controlling the cost of recruitment in both countries.
The agreement also prescribe norms as a person who wants to opt the job of domestic help should not have criminal record, should be trained in specialised centres in household work and must have knowledge about Saudi Arabia’s customs and traditions as well as the terms and conditions of the job contract.
