Pak court issues non-bailable warrant against Lal Masjid cleric

A Pak court on Friday issued non-bailable warrant against Lal Masjid cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz for threatening civil society members.

As per reports, Lal Masjid cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz has threatened civil society members who had held protest demonstrations against him for not condemning the terrorist attack on Peshawar Army School.

The Civil society members had filed a case at Aabpara police station in Islamabad two days ago after Lal Masjid cleric threatened them. The members were staging protests outside the famous Lal Masjid against Aziz as he had not condemned the terrorist attack on Peshawar school in which 152 persons including 132 children were killed.

The investigating officer in the case has sought arrest warrant against the cleric after which the Court issued non-bailable warrant against him.

Pakistan government has reportedly withdrawn security to Aziz which was granted to him three years ago.

Aziz’s younger brother was killed in an military action on Lal Masjid in 2007 along with 100 other militants and the strike was ordered by former President Pervez Musharraf.
