Soon you would not have wait in long queues for buying tickets for entry to Taj Mahal as Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) would start online entry ticket booking from December 25.
As per reports, the online entry ticket system would curb unauthorised entry, fake ticket selling and other dubious means to gain entry to the world heritage monument.
The move is also being welcomed the hoteliers and businessmen associated with tourism industry in Agra.
ASI’s move is likely to end rush at booking counters as tourists would be able to book online tickets in advance for entry to Taj Mahal. After the booking of online tickets, the tourists would have to show their I-Card and print out of the tickets and after that they can visit the world heritage site, Taj Mahal.
Taj Mahal is visited by the people from across the globe and around 60 lakh people had visited the monument in 2013. But the Taj Mahal has witnessed a shortfall in arrival of tourists.
Indian Culture and Tourism ministry has given the green signal to the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (ICRTC) to operate and monitor the online ticket booking system from December 25.
The ICRTC would launch the project in collaboration with the National Institute of Smart Governance.
