Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEB) on Friday extended the Voluntary Electricity Load Disclosure Scheme (VDS) till March 31, 2015.
A HPSEB official said that all the field officers had been directed to educate the consumers up to Sub-Divisional level in their jurisdiction so that the scheme could be implemented meticulously.
“HPSEB has launched this scheme for domestic and non-domestic category consumers (except industrial) for unauthorized extension of load up to 20 KW,” he said.
The official said that earlier this scheme was available for three months October 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014 but now this time limit had been raised by three months to March 31, 2015.
He said that this scheme was applicable to the domestic and non-domestic category consumers having total load including unauthorized extension, less than or equal 20 KW only.
“The consumer may submit Application and Agreement (A&A) form along with admissible security deposit along with other charges as per HPERC regulation. Infrastructure Development Charges is levied on extended load as per existing regulation of HPERC for which demand notice will be issued as per provision of the notified regulations,” he said.
He added that the benefit of this scheme was provided to the consumers who have made entire payment of their dues.
“During this validity period of scheme, unauthorized extended load would be regularized without any penalty charges. Security deposit and other applicable charges will be as per HPERC regulations/orders including Infrastructure Development Charges,” he added.
