Lucknow/November 2 (NG News)
Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on Saturday offered Rajya Sabha seat to noted lawyer and former union minister in previous Congress regime, Kapil Sibal.
As per reports, Yadav had reportedly offered Congress party help in securing Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh to Sibbal, saying he can spare surplus votes for him in Rajya Sabha elections.
Now, it is upto Congress party to decide whether it should accept help from SP and send Sibal to upper house of the Parliament, besides securing a seat for the party from UP where it does not have numbers.
Sibal who had held portfolios of HRD, Telecom and Law minister in previous UPA government, had lost from Chandni Chowk constituency of Delhi in the Lok Sabha elections that were held in April, May 2014.
