Sachin Tendulkar adopts village in Andhra's Nellore district

Legendary Cricketer and Rajya Sabha MP Sachin Tendulkar on Sunday adopted a village in Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore district under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna (SAGY).

As per reports, Sachin Tendulkar has adopted Puttamraju Kandrika Village in Nellore district of AP to develop it as model village. Nellore’s Puttamraju Kandrika village is the most backward area

with the people lacking basic amenities like potable water and electricity.

Sachin Tendulkar has reportedlty allocated Rs 4 crore for the development of the village from his MP Local Area Development fund (MPLAD) and turn it into a model village.

Sachin has adopted this village under SAGY program initiated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi under which each MP would adopt a village for its all round development using programs of Central as well as state government.

Sachin visited the village today and he was cheered by locals upon his arrival. Locals of Puttamraju Kandrika Village were quite happy as their village would now known as the village which is associated with world’s legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

Modi had launched Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna on October 11, 2014 in which he had invited all the 750 Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs in the event, putting development over politics.
