Punjab to construct 1 lakh affordable houses in next two years

Punjab government on Wednesday announced to construct 1 lakh affordable for weaker sections of the society. Further a Punjab State Affordable Housing Authority would also be setup.

The decision in this regard was taken in the Punjab Cabinet meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal

A Punjab government spokesperson said that new Punjab State Affordable Housing Development Authority would be setup under Chief Minister to provide affordable housing for all.

“The authority would construct one lakh houses in next two years to provide housing to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Lower Income Group (LIG) and other vulnerable sections of society such as Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, Minorities, senior citizens and physically challenged persons in the state to ensure that no individual was left shelter less,” the government spokesperson said.
