Condoling the death of four newborn babies in Ludhiana Hospital, Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal on Monday ordered an inquiry into the incident.
Badal said that an inquiry committee has been formed which would ascertain the causes and circumstances leading to the death of newborn babies on Sunday and submit the inquiry report.
“If any laxity is found on the part of any public servant in dealing with this incident then he/she would not be spared and would brought to book as per the law of the land,” Badal said.
meanwhile, the probe committee headed by Principal Secretary, Health, Vikas Garg initiated the inquiry and recorded the statements of senior medical officer and other staff of Ludhiana Hospital.
Meanwhile, Punjab government has suspended Dr Alka Mittal for the dereliction of duty in the incident.
