Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal on Monday said that any new Akali Dal has no future in the state’s politics and only the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) represents the Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiat in real sense.
Talking to media on the sidelines of Government Medical College convocation, Badal said that the Punjabis are well aware of the fact that every so called ‘offspring’ of the SAD, is being formed at the behest of those people who are vary to the interests of the state.
“The newly formed Akali Dal (United) would prove to be a total non-entity in the state politics as the people of state would completely reject it,” Badal said, adding that as such outfits were totally bereft of any ideological commitment so they would have no impact on Punjab politics.
Recalling the glorious track record of the SAD in safeguarding the interests of Punjabis, the Chief Minister said that the people have reposed their faith in the pragmatic and pro-people policies of Akali Dal time and again.
He said that the fact that the people have given their verdict to SAD for serving two premier institutions of Sikh Panth, the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee and Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, reflects that how people recognize SAD as the only representative of the Punjab and Khalsa Panth.
“Any new party can mushroom up in state but no one can match the commitment and dedication of SAD towards Punjab,” Badal added.
Badal said that all the decisions regarding the state were taken by the SAD-BJP alliance jointly. “The Cabinet comprises of Ministers from both the alliance partners and there is hardly any scope of one sided decision by a partner of coalition,” he said.
