J&K assembly polls: Congress leader Karan Singh's son joins BJP

Senior Congress leader Karan Singh’s son Ajatsatru Singh on Sunday officially joined Bharatiya Janata Party, a move that is likely to boost party’s prospects in upcoming J&K assembly polls.

Ajatsatru joined the party in the presence of BJP chief Amit Shah and other senior leaders


The Minister of State for Prime Minister’s office, Jitendra Singh announced that Ajatsatru had officially accepted the membership of party.

A sitting MLC of ruling National Conference, Ajatsatru is the grandson of late Raja Hari Singh, the last rule of Kashmir.

J&K assembly polls are scheduled to be held in November-December this year in five phases.
