Himachal High Court on Tuesday directed the Income Tax department to submit the records pertaining to transfer of cases of investigations into IT returns of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and his family members.
A Division Bench comprising the Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan passed these orders
on the writ petitions of Virbhadra Singh and his family members.
The Court has now posted the matter for November 24.
Singh, his wife Pratibha Singh, son Vikramaditya Singh, Aparajita Kumari, the caretaker of Sing’s properties and Chunni Lal Chauhan, the proprietor of M/s Universal Apples have challenged the orders of the Income Tax Commissioner to transfer their cases on the ground of conducting coordinated and joint investigation in all cases.
They have stated that the coordinated and joint investigation of all cases can be done in Shimla also and there is no need to transfer the cases to Chandigarh as this will only result in harassment to them.
In the previous hearing, High Court had dismissed the preliminary objections of the Income Tax department against the petitions of Virbhadra Singh and his family members.
