Himachal High Court on Wednesday decided to expedite hearing of writ petitions of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and his family in which the former had challenged transfer of their income tax return cases to Chandigarh.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan passed these orders and the court had reserved its decision on September 24 after hearing arguments in the case.
The Court deemed it proper to hear these writ petitions expeditiously keeping in view the request made by counsel for the respondent. The next hearing in case would be held on November 18.
The chief minister and his family had challenged the orders of the income tax commissioner to transfer their cases to Chandigarh on the ground of conducting coordinated and joint investigation in all cases.
